I feel that there is disconnection and alienation from our bodies
and thus our humanity in a society focusing more and more on the artificial
world of technology. In a field such as animation where profitability
is measured within the bounds of production procedures and uniformity
of product, the life and breath of the drawing often gets lost. Dynamic
motion and the emotional power of line are lost. In my personal artistic
exploration I am seeking a return to the corporeal nature of expressive
drawing in the hope of creating more experimental and unique investigations
of movement. I am looking for the signs and gestures that carry drama
along with exploration of nuance of mark. |
